The take-private sale was approved upon the recommendation of a purportedly independent special committee of the Baldwin board of directors.

Further, on August 3, 2026, UBS analyst Brian Meredith maintained a Buy rating on Baldwin with a price target of $37.00. Several month earlier, on May 5, 2026, TD Cown analyst Andrew Kligerman reiterated a Buy rating on Baldwin, also with a price target of $37.00. These pre-announcement price targets indicate that the sale price may be undervaluing Baldwin.
